I was actually considering getting this game, but i truly hate monthly fees. thats why only guildwars appealed to me.

Well I want pvp, so no D&D online for me then. To much carebears in the MMORPG universe. :bang head

i could be wrong but i think i heard there was no plans for pvp :/

definitely no pvp/no crafting and i have a hard time even calling this a mmorpg... everything is instanced. think guild wars set in D&D. now why someone would want to pay a sub for guild wars set in D&D universe is way beyond me. on top of that i don't care much for turbine. also the game is at least two months out... release date is scheduled for i believe mid-february

No crafting  Is it truly a MMORPG then?

All instanced? Are you sure its not just quest things that are instanced? For it to be a MMO game there really has to be more than just towns or common areas that are shared.

It would be crazy to pay a fee monthly for it when you can get GW or NWN for free and have pretty much the same thing.

no pvp - great
no crafting - even greater

I just want to run around and play a fantasy based game doing quests and hunting mobs. Seems like I will like D&D a lot. I'm not trying to leave my reality by immersing in a pretend game world. I just want a really good looking fantasy based game where I can interact with other players.

Not to mention where people say 'OMFG YOU SPENT A POINT ON THE WRONG SKILL, RESTART' when you're like level 60 or something, I"d like a game without that :p

What about the NDA? Anyways, from what I understand the game is totally instanced. The only way they pull off calling it a MMORPG is because everyone on the server to play on (or it might be just one big server) is in a single, large city. From this city you access quests/adventures/etc. No crafting sucks. I don't like PvP in most games, but eliminating it completely just seems too drastic. Actually... PvP rocks, but griefing (the result of poor PvP rules/etc.) definitely sucks.

Instead of eliminating PvP, games should just deal with it better. I like classic UOs PvP. If you killed innocents, expect to become a murderer. If you're a murderer, hide or be killed. Griefing wasn't a problem until they opened up factions.

i played the beta for a little while, all dungeons no dragons. I thought it was going to replace WOW as my mmo of choice, but i decided to renew my WOW sub.
