I've burned my TB 1G AXIA running @ 1500 because the waterjacket clip crashed my Abit. Now i'm looking for an TB to go to 1700+. Could anyone help me ? i'm a bit confused if i should buy a 1400 or a new xp. TIA.

Might as well get a xp unless price is a issue.
Just make sure your motherboard supports the xp.

I have an ABIT KT7a non raid. I think that with the lastest bios it supports the xp. Price shouldn't be an issue i think. At what speed do you think i should buy it ? Thanx for the post.

I have the xp 1800+ I get 1.7ghz using air cooling.
I would get that one as it has the best chance to do 1.7ghz or faster.

What version is your KT7A? I think only ver. 1.3 supports the xp.

Do you think that with my watercooling i could go as ihgh as 1800? And what about my board? i cant replace it now but i think it should do the work. I used to have 600 MB/S 680 MB/S ALU/FPU on sandra so, i think the mem band is ok. Thanx for posting so quickly. BTW, my mb is version 1.3, yes.

P.S.: My temps used to be 29ºc idle and 34ºc-35ºc running 3dmark2000 and cpu stability at the same time. room temp is almost always at 21ºc because its a basement.

I have no idea about your motherboard, JAWS said ver 1.3 supports it I would belive him.

As far as getting 1.8ghz I belive it is possible but not guaranteed as is any speed with overclocking.
Go to the main www.overclockers.com page and look in the cpu database.

There's no info on the 1800+ in the database.:( But i think i'm going for the 1800+... looking for prices now. If you can help, plz do. I live in Portugal and its not very esay to find those arround here. I work in a computer's shop and i can't have one of those n any reseller. I'm think of openning a Portuguese site for o/c stuff and info. (Still gadering help to do that);)

I just got a 1700+ (1466Mhz)

I haven't unlocked it yet but I'm getting 1650 Mhz OCing the FSB.
Had it at 1,7Ghz but it wasn't stable. I'm watercooling CPU and north bridge. A voltage mod would probably get a stable 1,7 at least on this chip. I bought it instead of the 1800+ because there was a big price difference here (Austria)
