Can anyone tell me how to revover outlook express email from an old drive and copy them to disc so that can be put onto a new puter? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Your email messages are stored in files with DBX extensions, and your address book has a WAB extension. Search your old HDD for those files, and you should be able to import them into your new installation of OE. If you're using XP or W2K, those files are hidden, so make sure you tell Explorer to show hidden files first.
