View Full Version : New stats!!
Thanks to Denis Hruza, who also made FoldMonitor, for setting up an excellent stats page for us!
Here are some FAH ver2 stats for your team. I'm no longer adding new
teams
for the FAH1 stats. I'd like to phase them out actually.
http://users.neosmart.com/~hruzaden/folding/stats/overclockers-stats.html
They are updated once every 3 hours (30 minutes after the hour)
0,3,6,9,12,15,18,21 EST
These are generated here on my local machine which has a 56k
connection. I'm
online 24x7 though...because I happen to know the guy running the ISP.
Bascially if they run, they run. If it misses an hour due to my
connection
being down or stanford being down it will catch back up. The workunit
history
may be off the missing hours but the totals are always correct. Give it
a
full week to get going for the work history.
If it freaks out or is broken email me. If it misses an hour or so,
please
wait for it to get going again before emailing me.
The main stats page is at
http://users.neosmart.com/~hruzaden/folding/stats/
Awesome!!!!
I saw that the guy who does statsman.org is thinking about just updating his page once a day. Hmm, actually looks like he has started to do that.
This is great thanks sfa
Wow, just looking at this closer. It even shows you your change in position and new members!!!
thanks.

how many WU's have you finished?
did you enter team # 32?
It usually take between a couple of hours to a day for your stats to show up. the first place they will show up is here: http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/teampage?q=32
Hope this helps. Fold on!!!

That's sweet. Thank you Denis Hruza. Someone give that man a prize hehe.
Fold hard or go home(and fold as much as you can)

I have 2469 completed work units and am currently 1141 in overall rank. You can check me by doing a search on ned clocker (I have found that it is NOT case sensitive). I had the 3rd highest production total on our team this weekend. Only ichan and Stool had more units than I did.

wait, are you using v1 or v2? sounds like you are using version 1 still?
NedClocker

v1
Sorry.
It is time to switch to ver. 2
we are in second place and once everybody switches over we should close in and take over first place. the stats page listed on this thread is for ver. 2.
Fold on brother!!!

What's different about v2?
the stats are seperate. There are different proteins. check out the threads in the folding section.

Good to see you Ned. As you can see almost all of the team has switched to version 2 and that is what these stats look at.
If it is possible, switch to version 2 but if not keep folding on version 1!!
http://folding.stanford.edu is where you can download the client. I am mainly using the first one listed there and a little of the text only client. If you have any questions setting up feel free to ask!!
What is different about version 2 is that research team can do better and different research with new and old proteins than they can do with 1.

The v2 stats are seperate from the v1 stats? Is Lews your folding name? I'll put v2 on tonight, time permitting. Shouldn't take too long.
For now they are seperate and Lews is my folding name.
Glad you are making the switch!!
Right now we are in a race with overclockers australia and we can use all the help we can get.

Maybe one of the Mods could stick this for a day or two, just to make sure everyone sees it.

What's the difference between WU and total score? I just started v2 and it seems to me that WU, total score and week total should all be the same. I'm looking at http://www.statsman.org/folding2stats/32.html
Your score increases by 2 points for some wu's. The scoring system is supposed to award more points for proteins that take longer to fold. As it turned out the fastest proteins seem to be the ones with the highest score. Villins award two points to your score.

Thanks. Cool. How did you know which one I was folding?

The scoring system is based on how long a celeron 400 takes to do the WU. If it takes 24 hours you get 1 point if it takes 48 hours you get 2.(I am pretty sure about the 24 hours for a point, but if I am wrong let me know.) We all know that AMD chips are faster at folding which could be why the ones that take longer on the celerons don't take longer on AMD's.

That makes no sense to me!:)
Sounds like you get one point a day regardless.
I don't know. Fold on!

They have a ton of celeron 400's at stanford they ran the different proteins on these machines. Then they give a score for each protein based on how long it takes these celerons to finish the workunit. I hope this helps clear it up for you Ned.

So, now score is more important than WUs?
Works for me!
It is supposed to be a way to equall out the fact that some take longer than others. Fold on:D

That's how it's supposed to work. It just seems like the villins fold a bit quicker or about the same as some of the other proteins yet they yield more points. Maybe there is a difference on a PII. Don't have one to test it out on.
It isn't even a pII it is a celeron 400. At least that is what it said in the email list although I can't find the one he explained it in where I thought he said pII. but in one that I found Vijay reffered to celeron 400.
i'll link the new stats page this weekend. i've been busy. homework and real work.
i think the stanford page has the most accurate stats now and thats where i've been pulling the member list from.

Yeah so why does it matter if you have a fast machine or not. Seems if you get work done faster you get less points? My machine should theoretically be 4 times as fast as a celeron 400 and then some since I got 256K cache at full speed.

I can finsh a villin in 7 1/2 hrs and score 2pts and a quicker wu like gnra hairpin takes 3 hours but only score .6pts should be more like .8 pts to equal thing out doesn't sound like much but by end of 24 hrs 1 pt difference
