Tonight i came into posession of a 6600GT that is dead. wont post, nothin. fan spins up, thats about it. made by MSI.

there was something on it... looked kinda like dried milk. i scrubbed it off with a toothbrush nd water, it was all up in the one chip on the back, up next to the vga connector. i scrubbed all that out between he pins on the chip nd form everywhere else, and still no luck, so im wondering if anyone has suggestions. i would RMA it, but i dont know exactly what happened to it so i would feel terribly guilty trying to RMA a mistreated card. so im hoping someone knows a few tricks that i dont to try to get it to work. also, i tried it in another system, still nothing. also tried the DVI connector with an adapter, but still nothing. If i had a dvi lcd here i would try that, but i dont :-/

the guy claims he pulled it out of his comp before drivin here, but i dont have any proof of that or anything. so any help would be grand.

if it helps, random markings on the card say '8989 ver 110' and on the back the sticker with sn and stuff has 'p/n:8989-010'

anyone know why they put a square labeles bad_mark on the lil tab thingy thats at the back of the agp connector? it interests me lol.
