View Full Version : Seinnheiser PC 150 or Plantronics DSP-500?
I just bought the Seinnheiser PC 150, but I wasn't sure which headset is better FOR MY PURPOSE. The reason why I say that is this... I have an SB Audigy 2, so I don't need a USB headset with external sound source in it. The price difference means nothing to me, as it was only about a $8-10 difference.
The Plantronics DSP-500 is supposedly an awesome headset, but would I have been better off with it?
Basically, I have an SB Audigy 2... should I have chosen the Seinnheiser PC150, or the Plantronics DSP-500? I can always cancel my order and get the Plantronics if you think so... or I can just buy that as well, and use both.

Keep the Sen's. You will not be dissapointed. Plantronics offer good sound quality, but allways feel cheaply manufactured to me. I have been extremely happy with my Sens :). I'm currently using PC 150's as well, and could not ask for better. Except maybe for the set of PC 160's that I broke :(.

What's better about the 160s?
I paid $39.99 for my 150s at buy.com, and along with two sets of Plantronics Audio 90s, it came out to like $8 shipping.
I could have paid $37.99 at amazon with free shipping, but buy.com gets stuff to me in one day normally... I figured I'd go with buy.com cuz they ship quickly, and I guess they ship from nearby me (NY).

The 160's have bigger cans and better isolation and bass response. Just all around richer sound from the 160's although the fit and finish is nearly identicle to the 150's.

****... should I get those instead? lol

I got a pair of 150's off of amazon a few months ago. They are well built, but are a little lacking in the base department to me. I am using the on-board sound of my P5WD2-P though. They did sound better when using the soundstorm on my NF7-S board. For what I paid for them and as much as I use them...I cannot be upset.
:) I don't need much bass.
I really ONLY need these headphones for gaming. For music, I use my Klipsch 2.1 system.
Basically, I have my Klipsch system always hooked up to my audigy 2, and then I hook up my headphones to the jack on the main speaker, and I only do that when I'm gonna game... I can't game with the Klipsch b/c first of all the grenades in game actually blow up the house, and also cuz I can't hear footsteps if I don't have headphones on.
SOUND = CRUCIAL, for CZ (Counterstrike).
my bro was debating the same headphones and went with the sen pc 150 he loves it.
The plan has a usb which is suck. stay with pc 150

Well, in that case the 150's are great. Especially when you consider I only paid like $35 for them shipped. They are clear and crisp. They are also very well built and feel so. I never drop anything, but for some reason I have dropped my 150's like 5 times in the past 3 days and they don't even have a scratch on them.

So I guess now you can't say that you never drop anything. :D
