Hi!
I am getting into Ubuntu linux stuff and would like to OC the P3 I am using. I can only use the FSB to OC it so I would like to know what is normal for this Pentiums and what programs to test stability under Ubuntu. I cant even figure out how to run the linux superpi yet lol!

Cool. Did you change the stock HS and added voltage or just like that?

its the stock heatsink, decently ventilated case (nothing special, just put fans where i could, 1 intake, 2 exaust), as5, small bump in vcore.

i really think i'm more limited by the lack of a agp/pci lock.

actually sorry i should say, i can RUN it at 950, its prime stable at around 920. i lent it to a friend as a favour, it normally runs as my sorry htpc. ;)

You are generally limited more by the motherboard/ram than by the cpu when it comes to a P3-733. Given the default 133fsb, there isn't huge room for increase. More than 150fsb is tough on the P3-supporting chipsets, and often requires lax timings that prevent overal system performance from improving. 150fsb translates to 825MHz with a 5.5 multiplier, a level of clock that nearly any 733 will run with ease. And of course, the video card must be tolerant of AGP bus speed outside of spec to achieve even the 150fsb. In those days I simply bought P3-550e's, and ran them at the same 150/825MHz you could a 733.

Ok thanks for the info. I got a MSI 694T Pro mobo so lets see what it can do. Ubuntu runs fine with it but you know how we OCers are....we cant see anything running stock :santa:
