I want to use the 5.13 Catalyst drivers but do not want to use Catalyst control center that requires 1.1 framework.

Is having only 5.13 drivers and ATI tools good enough? What is everyone else doing by staying away from Catalyst control center?

The ATI Control Center offers you nothing wonderful or new. It's slow to run, resource intensive and doesn't even work with .net framework 2.0. It's lame. Rather use ATI Utils.

does ati control panel work with the newest drivers? would be good alternative to cc and .net if it were compatible.

In another thread someone did this and they said CP didn't give them the option to adjust FSAA and maybe AF. It's a thread that is active today.

If you're not running SLI you can still uncheck the CCC when installing the new cats, and just use the drivers + wdm drivers. For cards other than the newest gen you should still be able to use ATI Tray tools rather than the ccc with this method.
