Hey All,
I've been trying to install linux on an old macintosh (oldWorldROM), but I've run into a problem. When I tried to install off of cd, I could not get the installer to recognize my cd drive.
So I decided to install another hard drive (on for macOS, one for Linux. The instructions tell me which directions to follow if I'm installing off of a hard drive, but then don't give specific directions! This distro is Yellow Dog Linux (based off of Red Hat). Can anyone help me out?

I'm actually installing it on an old ppc 7300 (180/96). It isn't actually mine, but for a student organization I'm in. We've been trying to set up a web server and we have some old school, free computers, but nothing new.
I am also planning on installing some form of linux on my home machines, one of which is a mac g4 533/128; but I'm waiting until I learn more about partitioning my drive without destroying everything upon it. :-)
I was having a problem with the bootx problem, since it is OldWorld ROM, but I checked out a mailing list and got the exact answer (new file) that I needed.
Thanks for the advice, though - I may try out that distro as well.
