Hey up people well i have a slight problem with my raptor hd the problem... i cannot access the drive in anyway or for that i know of!

Whats happend - On monday i came back from my dads adn switched on my computer for the 1st time in 2weeks and looked inside as i had a water loop setup adn saw that there was water leaking into the container i had placed ontop of the gfx card (it was leaking before xmas and i fixed it well i thought!) anywya i swithed the whole thing off and removed the whole loop and put a heatsink and fan back onto the cpu not knowing that mct -5 had leaked onto the mb (only a little notthing much tbh and none went near the hds and if it did my storage whould of been hit the most not the raptor)

i wiped it away and swithed the computer on and all was fine for about 3hrs then the thing rebooted loaded up and lasted about 20minutes then rebooted and then i got ntoskrnl.exe corrupt! try loading into safe mode etc, etc which i did and no joy i got the blue screen of death saying something like nonpagedsomting (i'll find out later it's 2.40am and ive written this once! but my old ide drive is nackard) try safe mode etc, etc so i tried restore last known good configuration and that didnt work i tried the trusty windows disc and repair followed by a clean install with errors (something about ntfs.sys file (thats not correct ill have to find the correct name tomorrow))

Ive even tried setting the drive as a slave drive so that i could replce the ntoskrnl.exe but soon as windows recognised the drive it crashed and i got nonpagedfiledump its really bugging me i mean saving my work would be great but i just need the drive to be working as my ide is about to die i can feel it!

should i contact wd about the drive and see what they say?

clear the cmos and check your voltages? i've seen this happen randomly on my pc's and others that belong to my buddies.

leave one stick of ram in, clear your cmos and try again. if you can, try running a "repair" using your windows os disk.

i'm not sure if any of this has to do with the leak in your loop but have you let all of your gear completely dry?

Sounds like the install is hosed, reinstalling windows should fix it. Put the raptor in another machine as a second drive to back up any important data (you could also run a diagnostic to see if the raptor is ok). If anything I'd think the motherboard is bad but if you are lucky the CPU just overheated cause the loop was low on water or the mobo, being wet, caused some errors and when it dries it will be ok. It sounds like things were going wrong causing the reboots and on one of the reboots some system files were damaged so now the OS won't load. It may not just be ntoskrnl that is bad, it may be other files too which is why I reccomend a reinstall (preferably format and reinstall).

as i have stated i have put it into my second machine with no luck! Ive tried my main rig today and looks likes something is up with no components in i can switch it on and off at the back but the switch at the front works only now and again also i get no picture!

I thought repairs would just be a cpu block now it looks like mb and possibly a 74gig raptor! Also it was already runnnig windows so it wasn't installing anything infact i was downloading a few files on another forum ive been pointed in the direction of the wd tool i'll try it later and see how it goes i have more dl to do right now :(
