hey, does anyone have any of these enermax variable speed fans? they have some over at www.crazypc.com

i could use those for my setup, to conserve noise. they have some decent specs. the 80mm looks really decent. at full speed, it is pretty much the same as a sunon 80mm. its quiet, and moves a decent amount of air.

let me know if you guys have used these, or would recommend them. they seem decent...

i have the 431 which is nice. i don't see any real improvement in my temps just about 1-2 degrees really. still, enermax is a good company for psu's so go for it

I don't know of anyone having trouble with their powersupply because of heat. As for using one of the fans, they are just normal fans i think. you would need some way of controling them such as a retrostate.

they have a build in temp sensor and they are supposed to control their speed by themselves...

they also have a model that has a rheostat built in too... has only 3 modes, but still cool. that's wierd that no one has tried them out. they have pretty much same stats as a sunon or panaflo...

I bought the Enermax 450 watt non fan controlled PSU. I like the unit....very high quality. I found that on mine both fans are very quiet low RPM models that don't seem to move a lot of air. The air that does come out the back is much cooler that the air that came out of my stock 300 watt PSU. If you have a change to see an Enermax unit look in the vent holes and check out that monster heatsink!!!

yeah. they aren't power supply fans though! they are case fans.. i know enermax is great for power supplies, but this is a bit different. anyways, they should control themselves automatically. that would be awesome. although, im kinda rethinking it, because honesly, my computer is NEVER idle. its always at full load. my systems temps only vary about 1-2 degrees C because if a video isnt encoding, folding is running... sometimes both ;) so i may only get 1 variable for the rear of my case. the 120mm on my heater core should probably always be on full. plus, its only 35dba, so thats not loud at all.
