Bit concerned about this one, have a Hercules Prophet 2MX. Is it worth the risk flashing the BIOS? Am not really an ardent gamer, but do enjoy the odd session of UT. Frame rate is not a concern, but image quality is, due to the nature of my work.
Am I likely to see any gains if I do go ahead. I have no worries with my MoBo as it's a dual BIOS system, this is a little riskier to me. If I loose the card, could lose a contract for some video work.

The only nVidia BIOS update I've ever noticed any fairly significant gain from was in the GeForce 256 DDR. It wasn't even all that substantial.

Flashing a video BIOS is no more difficult than a motherboard but really doesn't offer the usual significant gains.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with it if it's a concern.

Thanks Jon, had sort of come to that conclusion. Just needed a second opinion, it's not as if I can add a faster GPU. That was the only advantage I got with my MoBo BIOS.

I've flashed the BIOS with an update on my old Hercules MX video card. Really no different than a mobo BIOS flash like Jon said. I too noticed very little performance gain. I would also say, if you're not having any conflicts or problems, don't bother.

Looks like a definite case of "If it ain't broke......Just OC it" Thanks again.

my experience is it will only help if you go to a gloria bios (fixes frame braking)
