View Full Version : Where can I get the variable resistors that I need
I am planning to voltmod my 7800gt but before I wanted to practice on my gf4ti4800se, so I'll need 4 different vr, I was able to find a 10k ohm vr at radio shack today, and 5k ohm vr at allelectronics, but I still need a 2k and 3k ohm vr and I don't know where to get them. Where can I get these, what kind of store sells them that I could find localy other then radio shack, where can I get them online?
Thanks for the help.

I used to get all mine from Mouser.com, now ATI cards don't require vmods.

why not?
With the new gen of cards the voltage can be changed with software, no need for a hardmod.
edit: I went to the website that you have suggested and I guess they have what I need, but see I this is my first time volt modding anything at all if you could link me to the ones I need that would be great. A 3k 2k and 5k vr.
this is the pic from the voltmodding guide I'll be using

do you mean the X1xxx series? What kind of range does it allow for? limited like the 6800s or is there a decent sacale of possible voltages?

i just got a big order from hosfelt, they're pretty great (hosfelt.com)
you don't need a 2k and 3k trimmer, use a 10k or a 5k (not to mention i've never seen one)

I think there is 2K's but like crime said just use a 5K.
OK, here's the exact same potentiometer in the pic you linked :D

And the Data sheet

Remember 5000 Ω is 5K Ω ;)
Ok so I'll just order a couple of each, thanks a lot for the help.
