I put together my racehorse system last weekend;

A7V266
1.4 Ghz Athelon
V8200 G3 card
512 MB DDR
80 GB HD
Linksys LNE100tx ethernet card
not overclocked (yet )

Loaded with Win 98 Initially (I plan for XP upgrade). Everthing apparently went fine during all of the instalations of the windows, 4in1 drivers, 8200 drivers, NIC and printer driver. But now with this system my cable connection speed has dropped in 1/2 and I am having trouble succesfully downloading files. I tried reloading the 4in1 drivers with no change in results.

I know its not the NIC, cable modem or cable company as I put the NIC back in my old computer with full connection speeds.

Anybody got any suggestions? Im new to putting systems together from scratch so I would appreciate any help

Apparently my days of just being a lurker here are over.:rolleyes:

Welcome to the forums! :)

You might try going over to dslreports.com and going through their testing routine to see if you can fix it that way. I wouldn't be surprised if you just had some settings that are just a little bit off.

It seems like your settings are off in your registry. Call your cable providor (Tech support) and find out what they are supposed to be for optimum performance.
