Reccomend me a PDF Editor to type Text Onto PDF

I have some forms and applications that I wanted to look more professional by typing into the fields instead of using my poor handwriting.

Adobe acrobat doesn't seem to work at all, so can anyone please reccomend me a program?

I don't think you can, as far as I remember PDF is edit protected.
Might be wrong...

OpenOffice can make PDF documents but I do not know if it can edit them. Worth a look tho.
