Under Seti Driver, set processes to 2. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Happy Crunching.

Did you check the box that says to set afinity? Also make sure your cache is set above 2.

The DOS box that blinks is the command client itself. It's probably transmitting and is setup to hide itself once it's done. This doesn't mean it's terminating the crunching session though.

Setting the cache downloads several units at once so that when one unit is complete, it can immediately begin working on another unit instead of having to wait to download. Saves a little time and comes in handy when the Berkeley servers go down (which seems to happen every few days for a little bit).

CRUNCH ON!!

Sweet, if you are going to run 24/7 you may want to up the cache to 20-30 WU's. Did you join the team and what is your seti nickname?

I had a ferret for a while. Had to give it up because he liked to crawl behind my back while I was watching TV and bite me all the time.

Little *******. Was cute though...

We had three ferrets when we lived in an apartment. Funny little critters. They like to grab shiny objects and hide them under the couch. They can get into anything it seems. One of them crawled under the stove and managed to get into the wall in between apartments.

I'm partial to raccoons. I had one for a couple years but had to give it away when I moved. Probably my favorite pet of all time.

Really smart and if you can keep them from getting into stuff, you barely know they're around. Mine always sat on the back of the couch and either played with my hair or pulled on my ears.

Welcome to the team Fatshlink!!!

I just got a dual and i have a question about it. I hope this isn't out of place.

Does it matter when you set the maximum processes to 2? I just did it but my first wu was at 5.74 % done.

Dose it hurt/help to stager them?

If you move the maximum processes number it will tell SETIDriver how many instances of the clc ought to run at the same time. It is preferable that this number equals the number of processors you have. This way you'll have each processor running an instance of SETI (in a SMP system). Some guys have tryied to use 2 instances in the same processor and have come with the intersting data that the time that it need to finish two instances at the same time is slightly shorter than running each instance one after another. I personally did it and didn't found it worthwhile.

If you run just on instance in a SMP system, well you let one CPU idle aand ready to tackle any heavy duty that you need to do, without seeing no perfomance lost while you crunch. :D
