I recently bought a Asus p5wd2-premium board. It has something I have not seen or heard about before. It has a 4+4 pin layout for the EATX p4 pwer plug for the power supply.
My Antec NEO HE power supply had the correct plugs for this, the plug either did the 4 pin, or you snap on the other 4 and you have the 8 pin. The manual says that it is required for the dual core chips.
I had to return my NEO HE because it was a piece of garbage, and now I am planning on getting an OCZ Powerstream 520. Does this power supply have this 8 pin plug, or more importantly, is it even needed?
I bought an antec 500w ps to get me by, and it did NOT have the 8pin EATX connector, only the standard 4 pin. Will i need a new ps once i go dual core??
