Hey people. First timer here. There's a wealth of knowledge here. My question is pretty involved so I'm going to ask that those interested in helping me please email me. Briefly, I'm concerned that my BIOS settings are incorrect. My benchmarking utility is SiSoft Professional. It tells me my cpu temp is averaging 131 Fahrenheit. I know this is a bit too hot. My BIOS tells me right at 100. I tend to believe the SiSoft software since the tests are real-time. My real question here is two-fold: a) If given a list of all BIOS settings, could someone please tell me what I need to change to ensure peak performance? b) Is my CPU temp too hot?

Below is a list of what I feel is most important. Naturally I have all the BIOS settings copied down for those that wish to help me ensure everything is set correctly. I'm deeply grateful for those who may provide assistance.

AMD TBird 1.21 processor
256MB PC133 RAM
KT7V133 Motherboard
SB Live! S/C
32MB GeForce2 MX vidcard
Win2K Pro OS
Default BIOS settings

above is email address

Thank you again in advance.

i have found sisof to be a little inacurate when reading the temp sensor on the mobo, however the mobo's bios temp is probably off as well but more than likely closer than sisoft, remember when you are in the bios your not utalizing much processor power so its going to be running a bit cooler, try a program like mbm5 or something it should detect what you'r bios does. and there are many things you can do in your bios to improve system performance, such as memory timmings clock speeds abd varios other things , perhaps you could provide some details of your setup and we could help you out, also 130f is hotter than most of us like to run but is probably ok if you plan to overclock some better cooling would be in order but from what you have described your probably not running as hot as you think

Welcome to the forums Zeppelin! :)
There is no such thing as "ideal BIOS settings". The best BIOS settings wary from setup to setup. Read up on all the wise words from everyone in these forums, and read the reviews etc. Then you should have enough knowledge to start tweaking you're BIOS, and getting the right settings for YOU. If you have any spesific questions after reading up, feel free to ask them. :)

Welcome to the forum! Dozier is correct sisandra's temps are incorrect many times.
Why do you think your bios is wrong? What did you change or did you try to flash?

i thought Sandra and MBM or other monitoring programs all read from the mb sensor. My MBM report the same temp as my Sandra

sisandra and my VIA HSM are far apart. I get 46c load with most but sisandra says its 39c. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
