Amd posted a response to Tom's Hardware and there little expose' of a P4, P3 and Athlon.

Nope that's the problem you need the mp or xp with the thermal diode and a mobo that supports it.:(

Edit* Hopefully this will save a lot of cpu's once the mobo makers start putting out boards that support this.

Nice of Tom's to do this but it is true that Tom's is becoming very political. Maybe it is just me but they talk out of both sides of their mouth alot.

True el but the video is promissing technology. I hope it goes on all boards for all AMD's soon

Is this because they could sell more processors as we burn them up? Did they just not care? How did their engineers not know this? I work in manufacturing and believe me there is no way AMD didn't know. This means they deliberately allowed a negative condition to continue until they were called on it and now they suddenly and immediately have a cure for it. What is the cure? The entire motherboard world has to address a problem that could have been handled in the original specification or at least those spec published after Palominos inception. It appears that Intel is not the only company playing games.
