I've been recently getting this windows error everytime I boot.

It displays in a small windows when I load up windows, it reads.

"Error: Cannot start up service."

I even reformated and the error message still shows up.

I ran antivirus software and it does not show up.

It doesnt' sound like a virus. It sounds like a driver is trying to start a service for a peice of hardwahre that isn't working. Check the Event log and post it here.

In the event viewer, it shows a lot of Warnings but no errors.

About 10 warnings category 52 and 54

Could it be hardware related i.e motherboard?

I don't know. What are the warnings exactly?

All of them states COM+

and followed by some message saying it was unable to load some page fault. Or something along that.

I'm going to try to low level format my drive and reinstall the OS tonight and see how that goes.

My question is, how it happened to begin with. Maybe the OC was not good and it corrupted my drive? Because when I tried to install Norton AV I got a page fault error which prevented me from installing the software.

Strange thing is I switched my CMOS settings to stock and the same error kept showing up after boot.

Could it be hardware related?
