i know u can do with with cases and fans, by shorting with a paperclip but has anyone figured out how to light up a keyboard and mouse with just the psu? i need to know for USB and PS2.

Try finding the pinout to whatever mouse/keyboard type you have then attaching that to the molex. 5v should do it for both.

There is a 5V DC line in the USB design specification. You could connect whichever 2 pins of the USB plug on the peripheral correspond with that line straight to the PSU if you so wished.....
