hey everyone this is my first post.
i was just wondering what the best overall cooling solution is besides water. Many people say that adding jetdry to the water will increase its effectiveness. Does anyone have any tests that show which one is the best? The charts in some of the posts are confusing to me so im just asking a direct question about the best cooling liquid.

welcome to the forums,

first of all water is a good conductor of heat and is very cheep and unless you plan to redesign a cooling system to get a different liquid it (such as freon) then it is best left as it is, oil is and alterntive but the difernce is very small

Typically, distilled water with something added to it to decrease the viscosity and the freezing point. That can be anything from JetDry to Water Wetter to Antifreeze to Alcohol. Each has certain positives and negatives, and the mix makes a lot of difference. Water with a little antifreeze cools far better than straight antifreeze or a lot of antifreeze with water. So technically, the best cooling liquid would probably be something like LN2 though it's too cold for computers, but the best cooling liquid for a DIY at home hobbyist would be distilled water and some kind of additive in the correct mix.

I run with a mix of water and anti-freeze and I love my temps. My CPU temp at idle is 9C and 28C at full load and with a case temp of 13C. My cooling system is a 80 watt pelt and a 2cool watercooling kit. And now I have one small maybe stupid ? how do you find out what your ambient is.

Use a mixture of water and antifreeze alcohol 100% works well to voka is good but expensive anti freeze does the job.
