Hey Guys, I installed my new VGA Silencer today. I installed it properly, I spread the AS5 with a plastic baggy (actually cling wrap), VERY thin layer, I could almost see through it.

Anyway, Even before the Silencer, my card used to be extremely got to the touch, and I get non-visible artifacts in ATi Tray Tools, It picks up anywhere from 100-200 artifacts. Anyone know what I can do to solve this? My 3D Settings are set all to Quality, 16AF, no AA. I am also using Omega drivers based on the 5.6 or 5.7 Catalysts.

Thanks!

EDIT: STOCK CLOCKS

I have a vga silencer on my old 9800pro and found out that ati's chips are not exactly flat. You need to put quite a bit more on the gpu core than you would on a regular cpu. Take the silencer back off and put a good amount on it, but be careful not to goup it everywhere. Make sure you tighten the screws down evenly also.

What are your card temps doing?

Unfortunatly the 9800Pros do not have temperature sensors on them, only the 9800XT's...and mine isn't the kind that can flash to an XT.

I've found ATi Tray tools to be misleading, for me it was my clocks. I turned on my AC to 59Fº(It would be cool to do this all the time lol, but it costs a fortune) to test this, at 53Cº load temps I get artifacts, but at the same temp at 5mhz slower it's artifact free.

So to test this I popped on ATi Tool, 0 artifacts half an hour

*edit* feel the HS, if its too hot for the touch then I'd back off the oc, otherwise I'm leaning to a bad mount.

Funny thing is, these are stock clocks.
