Okay fellas, whats a good/decent video card? I see radeon and Geforce 2 cards. Whats good for games and applications? I'm not going to overclock the video card. But I do want bang for the buck.

How many bucks worth of bang do you want?
GF TI 200 if its not over your price limit.

Are all geforce 2 cards the same? Is there one better than the other. For the buck I'd say under $140 for my bang.

No not all the same, for that price maybe a GF2 ULTRA or radeon 64mb ddr vivo.

The gf3 200 ti's start at about $170.

I notice many companies selling GeForce 2 cards. What are a couple of good brand names to look for? That has DDR ram.

i got my Chaintech Geforce2 Pro 64DDR for about 135 bucks, and i got it to 235/465 and I get better scores than a lot of Ultras in 3dmark2001. I'd say thats your best bet if an Ultra is out of your price range. Even then I reccomend a Chaintech.

I can recommend Hercules (Guillemot) cards.

I have a GeF2 MX400 64meg with DDR memory, and it is good for all the games I've got.

Or you could try a Radeon 64meg DDR for slightly more.......

I would have to say that for the average user , who likes to game and wants CRISP SHARP CLEAR 2 D video quality plus good dvd playback and good quality TV out then the ATI Radeon 64 DDR vivo is the best bang for your buck. You can find it for probably around $125-140 if you search I am sure. www.futureshop.ca has it for $199.99 Canadian which is about $130-135 US

It is very overclockable if you choose. The 3d video clarity and quality is awesome and 2 d video quality is much better than the Geforce line of cards which produce fuzzy 2 D.

Your other option is to get a Radeon 32 DDR or an LE model which is as cheap as $55 US now , perform the hack on it and it will be a regular 32 DDR radeon. (no TV out or video in though but very good performance for the $$)

I love my card it plays all games very well and I use it in XXP os no driver problems or any other issues, plus it has the extra bandwidth with the extra 32 megs ddr.

My 2 cents worth and I have owned Geforce before ... Both are good but personally I give edge to ATI for all around use and price to performance.
