I used plastic molding(for panelling), mitered at the corners, and attached with epoxy to the case. I then installed Lexan inside and attached it with epoxy. I used white molding, as I was painting the case afterward and everything ended up matching.

I tried three times and finally took it to a glass shop. the first time they put it in backwards but I should get it back today the way it should be.

I cut my hole w/ a die grinder, got some neopreen hose and painted it silver, slit it down the center, stuck it around my hole, epoxied it into place and epoxied my window to that. voila!

i just got a window it from case etc.. 22.99 for the 16x16 version.. basically due like a few others.. cut out your hole, weither it with a dermel or something else better, then just molding #1 as some ppl call it.. just looks like a "C" and put that around the edges, and glue/epoxy the window on the inside of the case.. pretty easy if u ask me..

for curiosity..........have 2 easy questions

1-where you get your case cut ? hardware shopping ?

2-if you do it by yourself, which tool is the best to cut steel ?

well i used the round cutting disks.. they worked good on my top blowhole.. they can gring down very fast.. so be careful, u should just tin snips to cut out most of the window to about an inch or so to ur marked line.. then use the dremel to make the final cut.. just be sure to take your time.. rushing will only give you a bad final cut.. and i hope it turns out great.

I just used a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade. Put some door edge molding around the cutout. Silicone a piece of acrylic or plexi to the inside. It doesn't have to fit the hole just cover the area. here is a link on how to do it.

No problem hope it helped a little. If you use door edge molding it goes on the outside w/tape and has a small edge that covers your cut edge. The glass just covers the hole and molding and can be square or whatever, just silicon it on from the inside. I will try to get you a pic this weekend.

Man, using a dremel must take FOREVER.. My window is 11x16. I used a jig saw with a sheet metal cutting blade. I bought 2 blades for like $1.30 at Wal-Mart. Drew the window out on the case with a marker, and then went at it with the jigsaw after drilling a pilot hole. It was sooo easy, and cut so straight and perfect. Took me maybe 2minutes, probably less. I put chrome trim from CaseEtc around the edges, and glued the window on from the inside with plumbers goop. Worked great, looks great. :)

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet.. If your using a jigsaw to cut your windows / blowholes MAKE SURE you put masking tape on the bottom of the jigsaw! If you do not, the mixture of the vibration from the saw and the saw's metal bottom will straight fuXor you nice new case to hell... Learned from personal experience.. :(

Learned from personal experience.. :( True, I put mine on an old piece of plywood I had and used clamps to hold it tightly down so it wouldn't vibrate all to heck. Just cut through plywood and all (maybe a 1/4 inch thick piece or so not to thick) and stand back and smile.

i want a window but i think there is a problem. I have no idea how they mount since i have never seen a picture close up. I have a full tower case and the problem is, the shelf that the power supply sits on is basically right up against the cover of the case, i dont know if there is room for the window, my only option seems to hack out some of the shelf, it shouldn't be too hard, but i dont really want to, but i really want a window at the same time, so where i can i look at some close up pictures of how these windows mount ?:burn:

if you can, take some close up pics of how it mounts, and did you buy the window as a kit or make it?, what molding did you use?. If you can get some pics that would be great, i just dont want to run into problems.:D

doesn't look like the shelf at the top is as close as mine, it's almost touching the side cover. I need close up pics if anyone can take some or direct me to some:D

Mine is touching the side cover. I have to deal with a tight fit. As a matter of fact my side cover stays on with no screws. I'll see about getting a cam this week to take some pics. I just hope the paint shows what it does.:D
