hello there I知 new here and new to watercooling and I have a simple question. I知 trying to mimic the design of zalmans reserator 1 and or thermaltake rocket痴 design and want to know if the via aqua 1300 submersible pump would be a good choice for a design of this type? I know the zalman pump is 300 l/h which is a little over 79 gph if my math is right and the via aqua is 370gph, so is this pump to much power for the design type? Should I look for a 130 to 150gph submersable pond pump? I知 hoping to cool my cpu and gpu with this set up so I figured a stronger pump then the zalman痴 design would be better? I知 not trying to totally rip off these companies as I will be buying my water blocks, but I hope to build my own radiator, reservoir and pump in one unit I so I can save some money. Any comments or feedback would be appreciated if it works out I will do an update on it and post progress for further review thanks again

thats a lot of hardware to cool with something that has similar heat exchanging area as a reserator, make sure that you build it BIG!!! but I think either one of those pumps will work fine, and if you need less flow, just undervolt them a little. Good luck and

thanks for the reply yes it will be big about 2 feet tall 2.5 to 3 liters capacity. I知 sketching some basic 3d models out in maya to get an idea, but I値l know more design specs when I get my pump. I知 gonna go with the 130/170gph submersible pond pump cause its local at lowes. I知 also working on a new case design so I can have my motherboard and expansion cards on a removable tray, but with a hinge so it will all fold down and lay flat. I figure if I知 going water cooled I want an easy way to check for leaks and get to everything and I had a spare case lying around to cut into. More to come as things devolp and I get some $ to continue. :)
