i am uhhhhh ... monetarily challenged and i want to set up a cheap watercooling system.

i know a lot of people say they use like old car heater's and stuff, does anyone knows any sites or can anyone list like all the stuff that you can use as watercooling parts (and what you haave to buy) and also how to mod them to work as you want (im guessing you can't just stick them in).

thanks.

I know i just posted a thread here (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?threadid=43376) that points out watercooling for under $100. It probably doesn't have everything you want in it but i think it'll help. Hope it does help.

no clue.

under 100 probably, i guess the lower the better? but i dont want to get like total garbage or anything, you know what i mean (or maybe not, i dunno)

also another slightly off-topic question.

i'm reading watercooling stuff and i've been seening submersible vs. in-line pumps,

in-line obviously looks better, but the oc.com article about it says you need to bleed the system or something to get rid of air pockets -- meaning?

also . . . do you need a reservoir? if i have a radiator of course for cooling . . .would it be possible to fit the thing in my case? would i take a significant performance hit from having it external with a big reservoir and stuff?

actually yeah that does help somewhat, thanks.

i never even thought to check ebay, let's see what it can do.

also, i may sound ignorant (i guess i am), but everyone keeps saying they go to their junk yard, and i'm wondering exactly what they mean. we do have this place in my town where we throw out our old crap, but they usually crush it all (I do notice they take out some stuff, but i thought that was just for them to keep themselves). do i ask those dudes if they have stuff? or is a junk yard like something more complicated that my small town doesn't have? i live near nyc if anyone knows any good place close . . .

OK i'm not that experienced w/watercooling either but i can one or two of your questions. It is possible to have a water system fully inclosed in your system. Check here (http://www.overclockers.com/topiclist/index31.asp#Water Cooling) and you should have a lot of your questions answered. There's a way to make your own waterblock also for saving money. I also read of a way to have a radiator water system without a reservoir but they had a fill line that was plugged when not being filled. I'll try and find it.

okay okay i have a bunch figured out, thanks for all the leads hitman, but i also have another question. i saw this article: http://www.overclockers.com/tips174/
and that system is like perfect (the setup and stuff); exactly like i want mine to be, completely contained, no reservoir, of course he lists the price as 200-250, but i think i can work it out a lot cheaper. but the thing is, he says he has a fill tube for the bleeding, i dont really understand this, can someone explain it? thanks.

Not sure on this but the reason behind bleeding is to get the air out so that you don't have air circulating through your system and just water+freon or whatever you decide to add. I think it helps reduce corrosiveness and helps cooling. Someone who knows more wanna add or correct anything?
