Whats the best solution, some have said set it to blow outward and some said to set the fan to blow in on the heatsink. I always thought blowing in would be better yet I heard that the fan would blow to much air to fast and not cool the heatsink really well.

The answer to this question depends on the details of your particular setup. The best thing is to try it both ways and see which works better. Both will work well enough that you won't endanger your equipment. But you may get a different answer than others.

Most of the Alphas are desiged to have teh fan suck air off the heatsink. but like nihili said, try both, you never know. It really depends on the airflow patterns of you case.

try both. I have a gut feeling that you will do better with it blowing down as that fan makes a lot of turbulent air.

Got one of these puppies on Monday.

I set it up to suck air off... and it's doing about as well as my SK6/YS Tech 40 CFM combo did, but I am also running a 44 CFM delta on mine, not the delta 69.

I had to switch up my case fans, but I did it without any experimenting, just what I thought might be good. I previously had a case side hole blowing fresh air down onto the HSF, now I switched it to blow out to match the Alpha.

Just some thoughts.

the alphas are designed to blow air away from the hs not down at it. might work okay blowing down but should be better blowing up.

hmm because most of the review state that it cools better when inward *shrug*

have you tried blowing inward el? if so were the results worse?
