Hey everyone.

Currently I am using Windows Media Player and whenever I play a song with it, my computer becomes very sluggish. I opened the task manager and I found it to be using about seventy percent of my processor (It's dual core too). How can this be possible?

Open WMP | Tools | Options | "Library" tab | "Monitor Folders" button | By default 4 folders in the Documents and Settings folder are included to be monitored for media files...

All Users --> Video
All Users --> Music
Current User --> Video
Current User --> Music

Remove all the folders in the list for monitoring, which should cut down on your processor usage considerably.

Wow, I did that and now it only spikes at about 25%. Usually it's sticking to 2-10%! Thanks much! :)
