Is it possible to put a pelt on a slotket??? It's an Asus S370-L. And if so, can anyone recommend a good pelt/heatsink combo for me??? This is my first real time deviating from the whole HSF alone thing. Thanks!!

Hey,

Yes you can use a peltier on a slotket (I have).

I used an 80W peltier cooled by a FOP-38 and it cooled well.
(Sorry cant give you specific temps because my MB doesn't support it)

I meausered it with a multimeter temp thingy and got -1C at rest (no cpu).

Also condensation will be an issue at these temps!! :-)
And you will need to use a coldplate as well, so the setup ends up being heatsink/pelt/coldplate/cpu in that order.

You might need to get clip extenders or you may be able to bend the clip of the HS/F to accomadate the pelt and coldplate.

Give us a yell if u want some more info!

Cheers
Wilbo

Thanks!!! That tells me just about everything I need to know... unfortunately, I used a bad processor on this thing and it's screwed up the motherboard... all it does is give 4 BIOS beeps and then nothing happens. It's on my 2nd rig... the P2B-B. Shorted the solder points with a flathead screwdriver, no effect. Even tried swapping out the battery and no effect. I'm not too upset... Baby AT mobos are really cheap. But I got a Celery to use on this thing and I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of speed I can get here....
