I have a 3.4Ghz (650) CPU, when I view in CPUZ, it fluctuates between 2.8Ghz and 3.4Ghz
Anyone knows why this happen ? Is it normal

That is Intel Speed Step. It reduces clock speed when cpu is idle to reduce temperatures. Depending what motherboard you have, you can disable it in the bios if your board has the feature..

Yea its designed to save power, and reduce overall heatload... I shut it off via the bios :).

I want it fast and hot all the time... LoL

On a desktop I would definitely disable it. While it is a good idea, there is an inherent lag from when you click on something to run and the processor kicking into high gear. It is only a small difference, but I bet you could notice it.

On a laptop its terrific for conserving battery life.
