Micron typically comes in 3 flavors:
A_-3 (servers)
BT-3
CB-3 (Decent/solid RAM, smaller fBGA chips that are more boxy than rectangular)
I have carefully cross-referenced Micron part numbers on Gautam's behalf to bring you this. With all information I have at my disposal both of these should be the famed Micron BT-3.
However:
THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK
If the fBGA codes are: D9CRZ / D9DQW this is the lesser PC4200 grade fat body Micron BT-37E
The genuine article is D9DQT part number MT47H64M8BT-3:A which is rated for the full PC5300 @ cas 5
Sen if you're wrong about this it won't be pretty, lol. :argue:

So with this you either get crap or D9s eh.
Might be worth the risk if my ram sells.

CB3s are hardly crap. They are DDR2-800/900 capable ram with voltage and 4-4-4. This is a smokin deal reguardless but it could be even hotter if you manage an extinct BT-3 kit.
Once again, at your own risk
So, $200 + shipping?
Thats much better than paying $400+ for D9 with a name brand

Yes, IF it is D9 which it may or may not be. However from the part number that is listed the odds of it being Micron BT-3 are extremely high.
Dell tends to stockpile ram and BT-3 was one of the first put to the market. If anyone would have them left, it would be Dell

Thats very true since I just realized the ram I have has those chips on it thinking about, decent chips mine did 350 4:5 with 4,3,3,8 timings and 2.1v

Thats not what CB3 is capable of. Most likely you have the PC4200 version Micron BT-5 ( i think its a 5). Reguardless CBs are not capable of any "3" timing. If you have Micron and its capable of 3s then it is a BT strain. Probably not the higher end BT3 but rather the lower grade PC4200 version that Patriot used

generic d9 like i have still does some excellent speeds, just not as good as corsair/muskin
edit: there's no tax for me on the home user site, part numbers A0534017 and A0534020

this ram looks kinda janky from the dell pic. so how well do d9's run? I got tccd chips right now. Worth it?

yes, but you might have to use a hammer to get it to fit in your ddr slots :rolleyes:

I don't know then he would have to voltmod to allow his voltage to go low enough:beer: :rolleyes:

alright kiddos, i ordered a 512 stick so we'll find out in a week what we got going down
Awesome Dan. That'll save me some of the suspense.
I always like taking crapshoots, but I don't take them unless I feel that the odds are on my side. :D Dell usually gets all the primo stuff, so I doubt these are CB3. Strong ties with Micron as well...this looks good to me.
This reminds me of the ol' days when Sen and I went hunting in the Circuit City's for BH6, BT-D43 and mT. Excellent find bro, your persistance even impresses me, though your fate is on the line till Dan tests these babies. :p

So this thing does at 5400 speed with 5 timings if lucky? If not these things do 4200?
5400 with 5 timings is stock here, heh. We're talking 6400 4's worst case from what I can gather.

we're talking pc5400 3-2-2-4 and pc8000 5-3-3-8 with a healthy amount of voltage
so how long have you had this mem bro?
And, what are the volts that you are using with it. Whta is the highest & tightest timings for this mem?

me? i've got some generic centon with d9 (which sentential tells me isn't even the good stuff) and i've taken it to 370mhz 3-2-2-6 and 530mhz 5-3-3-8 with about 2.6v

In case anyone wanted some more info, I deciphered that part #:
MT = Micron Technology
16 = Memory Components
H = 1.8V
TF = DDR2 FBGA
128 = Depth
64 = Width
A = 240-pin unbuffered DIMM
Y = single or dual bank DIMM
667 = -3 speed grade / DDR2-667 / SPD = 5-5-5
B = die revision B
3 = PCB maker (unknown in this case)
Here is the official Micron page on it:
http://www.micron.com/products/modules/ddr2sdram/part.aspx?part=MT16HTF12864AY%2D667
D9DQT should end in A3 based on my research. That would make these somethign else. Z9BQT maybe? (if those are 667 chips)

RAM is looking like it might be CB-3 as feared which is why I had a warning. See here:

If it sounds too good to be true...:( Still, it was worth the shot. And it seems like Dell has a pretty good return policy.

Sen got me to do that with the mT -5B C about 1.5-2 years ago... remember, Phil? :) Good ole' 2x256 micron chips on the NF7-s...

well i got cb3 according to sent gonna try it out later
So what's the order of best to least... I'm confused with all this stuff, but just wanna read up on how you guys are doing. I'm mainly interested cuz Sen got me into the "checking of chips in local stores" thing back 2 years ago. I like to see how it goes...
