hi I went to the shop today to get some memory for my computer. I asked the guy for some ddr400 512mb hynix. Because that's what I am currently running (only till I get more cash). In my Dfi Lanparty expert, xfx7800gtx, 3500Venice, crap 512ddr at normal/slow speed setting yuk.
The memory he sold me was "Hynix Ram 512MB DDR 400 PC3200 x8." On the stick it said "512mb pc-400". To cut a long story short, in dual channel, single channel or by itself it will boot but reset pretty much as desktop goes to load . Or just go into a resetting fit !!Not stable.
So what does PC-400 mean ? Why will it not work by itself, when my other stick "hynix 512 ddr 400" (legend) works fine. Oh what's 8 times mean, needs two to work ?.
Also what do you recomend Im in west aust and could only afford 1g of mem at the moment. please help :bang head

I don't want to sound rude but what ware you thinking? ALL your hardware is top notch but you buy crap memory?
Anyhow PC-400 is same as DDR400.
Did you try the stick by itself?
