View Full Version : New to Phase Change..Mach1 or Mach2?
I recently came into some retirement money, i was fired from my last job, and forgot I had this money vested etc. I do not want to pay 900USD$ for a Mach2 by prometeia although it looks tempting. What kind of commercial phase change can I find for the 300-500$ range, including any built by members of these forums. I have been following this site for 3 years here, although after I built my comp (1800tb oc'd to 2.2 on air, prime 95 24hrs+), i quit coming here as I was happy with my scores. Well, now comes the time to upgrade ya see. I searched and searched, and did not really find a product that fit into this category. I have heard that some ocmember named Sandman makes phase change, or used to. Thanks for all the communities help, as you guys have really made an overclock believer out of me. :)

You need to come around more often and post a little more often. If you had 100 or more posts you could have viewed the classifieds and purchased the Mach II GT that just sold today for $550.

yeh to bad i just sold a mach II with a lian_li case PC60 All silver aluminum for $650-Cheap.
o well guys, thanks for the information anyway! I know this community is constantly helping others. I guess I can ask if the Mach I or 2 series are good for beginner phase changers. I want some extreme cooling that is best for its price, but nothing over 500 bucks though. If someone on these forums make them, and they are reputable, then I would be willing to pay them. O,well, thanks for the responses.
Actually i found a Prometia 100220 or something or other, for 150 dollars as a good deal. Its actually on Ebay, and has a day left. Is it worth it, if its in good shape?Hers the link http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PROMETEIA-100202-VAPOR-PHASE-CHANGE-COOLING-SYSTEM_W0QQitemZ6840452538QQcategoryZ80166QQssPage NameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I build units and modify units.
Mach II unit is very capable unit. When it comes time for some upgrade, the base is pretty good... (good compressor good condenser) so all you need to work on is maybe evaporator and suction line and charging and tuning. In fact, my V2000 single stage units use exact same compressor as I like how quiet it is and capable it is. Pricey compressor than some others I've seen but the characteristic of this beatiful compressor is somethign I haven't found better choice yet within reasonable price range.
Both Mach I and Mach II units use Danfoss NF9FX. Compressor alone is about $150 so if you can get mach units below $500... you are off to good start.
However, if you have intention of upgrading in short time for better temperature, etc.... might be more economical to just get brand new custom built unit.
