Last night I was reassembling my cooling system . . . I booted my PC and let it run at load for a while. I noticed that when I slid my tower a little closer to my case, the hoses exerted a little pressure on my waterblock, rocking it slightly. That got me wondering how good contact I was really getting.

Anyway, as an experiment I laid my PC on its side, and my temps went down by 2 or 3 C. I now need to insure that I'm getting good contact.

Anyway, just thought I'd pass that along. If you want to test your waterblock mounting, lay your PC on its side. If your temps don't change, odds are that your block is well-mounted.
