I had to lower down the speed of my DVD burner from 8x to 6x to stop the errors i was getting when it started burning it would burn half of the dvd then i would get an error. you guys know why i had to lower the speed for me not to get an error?

What media are you using? Lower grade media will get you bad burns even if it says it supports Xgazzilion burning speed.
Could you also tell what is your burner? And its firmware.

i have burn like a lot of dvd's and burn 50 on the same media on 8x. But now i had to lower the speed now to 6x to avoid errors.
I have Lite-On SOHW-8325 ws04
Lite-On 8325? or 832S? And firmware ws04 or vs04?
Anyway, I guess you need to update your firmware. Yours is very old.
