2005 fpw shimmer on dvi out?

I've tried two different cables on both of the dvi outs on my BFG 7800 GTX and all combinations shimmer on the left side of the panel. I tried the analog out from my x40 and no flicker but the panel doesn't seem to focus as well so I cannot be sure that it is the card and not the panel or vice versa. I have one of the dongles that downconverts dvi to vga but I can't find it right now, will try vga to the panel and see if it is still there with the 7800 gtx. I have a skeleton box with a 9600 with dvi outs on it too, but it has no disk drive atm, might have to try that as well... I was thinking perhaps it was interference from something inside my case but it is strange that it only appears on one side of the panel... Anyone else have this problem?

Ok this is very strange. I tested the 7800 gtx with the vga out and the shimmering goes away. I always scrutinized the image using ntest to see if there were any focus differences, there didn't appear to be any, so I suppose I'll continue to use the vga out.

I might add that the problem was most noticeable under darker grays but not black grays, solid r,g,b screens did not exhibit the problem, only grays. Maybe I got two bad dvi cables or something is wrong with the panel?

man i dunno that sounds crazy. Get that 9600 up and going to see if its something with the dvi in on the panel.
