if a PSU has 2 12+rails i know you hook one up to the mother board what about the other one? ( im confused about this)

should i just get a psu with 1 12v rail?

and on the connectors, the mobo im getting has a 24 pin power plug, but i see some have the 24 pin and some have 20 pin, but there is also some i see with a 20+4 pin one should i just get the 24pin? or what is 20+4?

1) On a dual 12v unit, 12v2 goes to the CPU's 4 pin 12v connector while the other one goes to everything else.

2) Unless you have a Prescott you want to overclock or SLI video cards, you don't really need such an animal.

3) 20+4 is a modular connector that has the extra 4 pins on a removeable section in case you don't need the extra 4 pins. You will, so you'd leave it attached :)

what are your components? we really can't recommend without knowing what you are running with it and what your budget is.

Aspire powersupplies are not powerful and high enough quality for those components. I'm sure others will agree with me as well.

Avoid the Aspires - not exactly crap, but overrated and below average quality. For these types of systems, I do suggest a strong single 12v rail. My usual suggestions are: Sparkle FSP550PLG-SLI, Silverstone Zeus ST56ZF/Etasis EPAP-560, PC P&C 510W, OCZ Powerstream 520W, Delta DPS550-BB, or Zippy over 460W. The Sparkle is the cheapest of these, but not terribly efficient being an older design. No shortage of power on it though.
