I may be one of few people that actually has their browser home page set to http://www.pricewatch.com. I've been watching as memory and CPU pricing has been dropping daily, if not HOURLY. It seems that many online sales sites are feverishly jockeying for that #1 pole position. Now that AMD (and Intel) have announced their cuts in chip pricing, these vendors have been lowering their prices accordingly.
Anyway, several vendors dropped to $200 today, and low and behold, there is one, http://www.pcsupplysource.com/, that is the first one to $199. I expect it will be several more days before I can get my hands on a Soyo Dragon PLUS mobo, so it will be interesting to see the price I end up paying for my CPU.
Memory prices are similarly dropping. I've seen one vendor make three $1 drops just today to stay in that #1 slot. One stick of 512MB PC2100 memory can be had for $53. I can remember paying $250 for a 512MB HARD DISK.
It's a great time to be buying hardware!
P.S. Another vendor just dropped the same 512MB memory to $53 in just the time it took for me to type this up!
