View Full Version : Just got a celeron 1.2 tualatin
Doesn't work with the VH6T.
It thinks it's either a 3.5 or 4 multiplier, but does see it as a Tualatin.
When I change it to user defined it has no effect. Abit's website has a new bios but that one's corrputed and doesn't say anything about 1.2 chips, only 1.0 and 1.1
sorry dude that chip wont work in most motherboards. i believe the 1gig and 1.1 gig cellys are cumine cores so they work.
the multiplier should be 12 for that chip. either sell the board and buy a new one or sell the chip and get a 1.1 cumine.
The motherboard's Tualatin compatible. I don't know that it's talking to the chip properly... I'd imagine if I waited long enough Abit will put it in an updated bios release.
The thing is, this was my next and only upgrade for this board; after this I'm evacuating to AMD :p.

all that matters: does it run....come on pinky show us some benchies.....nooo not another one, soon ill be the only one left with a crappy P3.....
Placid just got me the latest bios (NOT from Abit's site).
I will try the chip later, though I think I'll still have the same problem...).
I think the bios update will identify it :D
Nope. I get it running at 800 mhz/66 bus fine, but won't run user defined...
Gonna play some more...
Interesting. The bios says it's running at 300mhz, but as you can plainly see she's running much faster :).
Overclocking is going to be a chore I suspect, the voltage doesn't quite go high enough :(.

well, it looks like it's just your BIOS isn't reading your CPU speed but other than that it's working great! Have u tried to overclock from your BIOS to see if that takes in effect by checking your WCPUID? Those T-Celerons like yours will be the beast OC'er!. =)
Here's (http://www.aoaforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1017) the results, with absolutely no disrespect to the forums, but I don't want to post all that twice... there's really no need.

Hehe, mines on plane flying towards me as I write this.
Gonna try a little dryice/alcohol bath to see what she can do. Of course it will only be temporary. Soldered together a 2" OD 9" long copper pipe today and made it ready to be attached to the celery as soon as it arrives. Holicho hit 1700MHz on air. Dry ice cooling gets down to -70deg. C. This will be fun. Would be nice to see 166fsb with this chip for 2GHz. I doubt it will hit this but you never know. If it works real good at say -40 deg. C I may get a small chest freezer about 2.5' x 2.5' and use that for a resivoir. I am not sure how cold freezors can get too but I am sure they hit -20 deg. C you would think. That with a pelt and I should hit what -30 deg. C. Hehe i am nutz.
Sandra should have some fun anyway this weekend.

Oh gosh.. you gonna freak me out with that thing.. Dry Ice.. you're a mad overclocker! hahaha Agree with you Ol'man, with that setting I wouldn't be surprised you reaching theoretical 1.8- 2.0 Ghz cauze those Tually's need little amount of voltage to run at default! you mobo got plenty of voltage settings to try further me thinkx.. Me thinkx you gonna beat me so bad Im gonna cry.    :( :D
Im sure u'll get good results with your OC'ing. Wish u good luck and happy clocking! =)
BTW, Pinky I can't see what's on your URL. it says no page can be displayed.

I think the site was down, it's back again.

Nah, I know what I am doing.(IMHO anyway:D) Actually any condensation that forms will turn to ice pretty much but I am wrapping everything in that foam stuff that comes in computer hardware packaging, you know the grey stuff.

For less than the P3 1ghz retail, you get a retail P3 called a celeron with more raw processing power.

i just wish i could use it with my P3V4X which has taken whatever sadistic torture ive thrown at it for almost two years....ahhh stupid intel, they finally get a chip that competes with amd and they force people to buy new mobos......if i had to buy a new mobo there is almost no doubt i would go amd and get like a 1600+......for 10 dollars for than the celery......good luck with that tualitin, i hope youll find a way around the voltage problem.....133fsb should be your target :)....

Exactly. 133 will only happen when I gets more juice :).
Now to post a vid-pinning thread in the motherboards section.
One after thought. One day later found a new bios update from Abit for this chip :). VH6T4F is now available
here (http://fae.abit.com.tw/eng/download/bios/dlbios.php?name=VH6T&file=vh6t/vh6t4f.exe).
Doesn't solve the voltage issue but at least it posts the right speed.
