Hello, Well i just got a 1.4ghz T-bird and Fic AZ11EA from newegg.com yesterday. I put her all together and she is running fine. But of course that's not good enough. :D
I'm trying to overclock it to at least 1.6ghz if i can keep the temps down. I have it running at 1523mhz right now with a load temp of 45C and idle at 40C. I have the multiplier (sp?) set at 145X10.5 at the default voltage (1.8v).
Heres the problem... When i put it up too 145X11 my computer wont boot. The fans will all turn on and i hear the drives spin up but nothing comes up on the screen. Should i up the FSB? or try and up the Voltage?
I'm actually kinda new at this and any help would be appreciated!
Thanks :D

You are obviously using PC133, try backing down to 140 FSB X 11 Mult. See if it will boot, then in 1mhz increments, increase FSB.
The method I used was, start at default settings, increase FSB until you get errors. then back off 3 or so mhz and try upping multiplier. You might want to consider upping the voltage by 0.5 to see if that helps.
Good luck and welcome to the forums.

You did unlock the chip correct?
I have had this problem before. If you dont get a good enough bridge of graphite when you do your pencil trick some multipliers may not work.
The 1.4 Tbird 266 is factory unlocked.
I hope this helps :D

Sound like your pushing it to much for your voltage and or cooling. What are your CPU temp? You may want to try another bit of vcore too.

Well, I've been trying different combinations all night. The highest my motherboard will take the voltage is 1.95v.
It seems that I'm stuck at 1554mhz with 148X10.5 with that 1.95v. The idle temp is around 40C the load temp is around 46c. This is the closest I've gotten to actually booting. If I go any higher on anything it'll freeze during boot or give me a blue screen of death (in win2k even!)
Are the temps too high? Any other ideas?
Thanks for the help so far!

that is just a multipier that hte cpu cannot handle , try lowering the FSB b4 you up the multiplier. If the multiplier is not WAYYYY out there you may get it with a volt mod of the board, just be careful

it just may of reached the limit of that chip without a volt mod. I am not saying give up, but just re-think what you are doing.

i'd boot into windows at the highest speed you can. then run MBM or any program that will detect your volates. check the 5v level. i tended to get BSOD and such with my old power supply that had my 5v line running under 4.8v when i was overclocking. upgrading to a newer, better PSU helped with the voltage problems.

Well, i've been trying everything you've guys have suggested. The closest i got was 137 X 11.5. It actually let me boot into windows but crashed about 4 minutes later. Right now i'm at 135 X 11.5. It seems i'm stuck at the 1552mhz mark.
My voltage is as high as it will go. 1.95v. And my voltage on the 5v line is around 5.1v. I have an Antec 400watt PSU, so i don't think it's the PSU.
My temps are still around 40 idle and 46 with load.
OH yea, i don' t really want to do a voltage mod on my mobo, so i'm guessing i'm stuck.... unless someone has any ideas?
You guys (and gals) are great! Thanks for all the help! :D
