7800gtx 512 vs. 1900xtx, worth the price?

i love nvidia, but how does the 1900xtx compare for the price diffrence of 100 dollars. I'm upgrading from a 7800gt and am looking at the 7800gtx 512 or one of ati's 1800 or 1900 series. I dont see whats justifying paying more for almost the same performance, any info on this subject.

The 1900xtx is not worth it. However the 1900xt is. This is because the difference betweent the cards is a few megahertz and $100. The 1900xt is the best option if you are upgrading. It is better than the 7800gtx 512 because it is much cheaper, it performs better, and you can't find the 7800 anywhere.

The X1800xt is a pretty good choice too for the price IMHO. I know you said X1900xt vs the 7800GTX 512. In all honesty I would say the x1900xt if you are doing an upgrade from a much lower card. just do not get the xtx one. Rip off for extra clocks.

*sighs* never thought id say this, but go for the x1900xt.. its better, cheaper and... better lol. If youre really game though, and want the best of the best but can wait, wait for the G71 :p (someone had to bring it up, may as well have been me)

thanks guys, and care, you always answer my questions. looks like the xt it is. but do you know how much better it performs then the 7800gt oc. was mabye looking for some maro05 scores. I know this is the nvidia channel but how come no one talks more about the 1800xt then? seems way cheap fro what you get, thanks alot

i would wait till march....then you can compare the performe and price of the x1900xt and the 7900 and get the card thats right for you....

wait wait....you have a 7800gt...unless ur trying to game at 1920x1200 or something i would keep that untill the DX10 cards come out....but actually i dont know when that is...Q4 or some ****

i have to get a card now becuase im throwing in the 7800gt into my bros, and i need one now kinda, sucks technology is old when you order it, i just feel the 7800 is not what is up to my standards

Lots of X1900 XT reviews out now. The X1900 XT beats the 7800 GTX 512 in most tests. Here is a review from Anandtech.

Here is the Guru of 3D page with 3Dmark03, 05, and 06 (they used the 1900 XTX in the review, but the XT is almost as fast). Besides, you can easily O/C the XT to XTX speeds.
