I was pretty excited to read about axia 1.0 ghz oc'ing that I decided to save some cash on a 1.4 and bought the 1.0 figuring that I'd get a pretty new cpu and it would be an axia or better. Unfortunately (I think) I got an ASHHA. It won't go above 1140 with stability. I did the L1 bridge trick but still can't get the multiplier above 8.0 and maintain a 133 fsb. I'm using a shuttle ak31a (3.1). If I try to up the multiplier I usually can't reboot unless I clear cmos and when I clear it , it reboots as a 750mhz cpu with a 100mhz bus. I'm a noob at OC'ing so I'm wondering if the pencil trick worked. Perhaps AMD is dumping overclocked 750's or maybe, I hope, these are preproduction xp's.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Probably a cheaper stepping designed to stop you from overclocking it soo much. Try lowering the multiplier, and if it works then you did a successfull onlock. if you can't, take the HSF off and use some rubing alcohol to clean the chip and try again.

I have the same stepping, I don't know why its not as good as the early steppings, kinda of disappointing :( altho i'm doing better then you it seems. right now at 1.2ghz, but was at 1.33ghz earlier, default vcore. i'll post back tommorow when i get some time to mess around w/ it.

I own ASHHA t-bird at 1Ghz and it work's with no problem at 1208 five minutes I make it work :) (and the temp is the same as at 1000!!!) using 161 FSBx7.5 multiplier. I will change the multiplier to 8.5 when i can get contactive pen to cut and connect L* bridges on CPU, because i don't trust simple pencil for this work. Is good only for unlocking not connecting more stable other serious bridges.

I have a 1.0 ghz @ 1.0ghz ashha cpu coupled with a nvidia geforce2 ti 500 (Gainward 4ns ddr) and a matrox 40 gig ata100 hd (7200 rpm). My mobo is one of the newer shuttle ak31a (rev 3.1 ) boards. (I'm running win2k, was running XP but it included WAY to much MS advertising (and wasn't stable either)). This damn cpu lockls up at 1000mhz every once in a while. Usually when opengl is being used, but then again, I'm ALWAYS playing 3d games, and even when no screen saver is on and I've left the computer locked I'll come back and have to reboot. The chip has never posted high temps , even after lots of gaming. Anyone got a clue? TIA.

look at your mobo first. it's possible to have some problems.

because of my job, the latest month i saw 8 motherboards have the problem (with different CPUs, K7, P3, P4) and the system crash.

i mod the bridges on my CPU and i catch 1500 but the tempature was too high :( (60C    with 32 room temp) so i didn't push it more.
I'm waiting to decide what i will do, buy CAK2-38 (or GlaciatorII) or move to water coolling because nothing are imported in Greece and the cost of CAK is too high (91$ USD) :( :(
