At the moment I'm running a 6600GT (the other is being RMA'ed) and with one card I can run NFS:MW with a sliders maxed and AA at 2x. The card benchmarked over 8,000 with 3DMark03. Once in awhile when I tried to play NFS:MW the game lags bad from the main menu on. I decided to run 3DMark03 when it lagged and received a score of 2601. The other day I tried a reboot when it lagged and then the game played fine. Well it did it again tonight and after 3 reboots it's still lagging. Ran 3DMark03 again and had a score of 2600 even with a background proccess closed. Is this a sign of a dying video card?

My specs:

AMD 3500+ Temps: 25/30
A8N SLI-Premium
Asus 6600GT Temps: 32/36
1.5 gig Ram

What are your driver settings? and arethose the load temps or just idle? what cooling are you using? Try to uninstall the drivers run driver cleaner then install them again.

I running Nvidia 81.98 drivers, the temps are idle/load temps and I'm WC the GPU. I'm also running the card at stock settings. I will try and reload the drivers again when I get home tonight. Here's the weird thing I noticed last night night that I missed one processes for my antivirus after closing that the game ran fine. But the night before the game ran smooth without closing any of the processes. This is what has me puzzled.

did you reinstall the drivers AFTER you removed one of the 6600's?

you deff should be doign better than that. I run NFS:MW at 1280x1024 full everything. I wouldnt go by 3dmarks, either. For some reason i only get 800 in 3dmark06, yet 3800 in 05.

3d06 is a lot harder then 05.
