In my quest for the best 1/2" CPU waterblock for my Skt775, I came across two blocks from Danger Den: the RBX and the TDX. Both of these Blocks have 1/2" ID barbs, cost exactly the same, and are 100% copper. The only noticiable difference is that the RBX is longer (3 barbs) than the TDX (2 barbs).

TDX: http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-blc-231.html

My question here is weither on not someone can tell me which one is better. I would say the RBX is too long to fit snug over the processor resulting in uneven cooling, but I honistly don't know. There aren't a lot of details about them, so if anyone has some good knowlage or experience to help answer it would be greatly appreciated.

since i want to build a new setup as a back up im looking at using the TDX copper version my self for a Intel 641 (lga775) everthing is still in the works since this is all going to fit into a Matx case. GL

i dont know what you mean by too long to fit snug over the processor, the storm (best performing) is a long block too, but as long the mounts are centered, then the block should be centered as well.

In terms of performance, the RBX is slightly better in performance than the TDX based on the 3 barb design. If you check the pics of the internal design of the TDX and RBX, you can see that they are quite similar but the 3 barb design allows for better flow for a slight increase in performance.

Here, this site has internal pics

Look at the third pic of both the TDX and RBX. If anything, the RBX is a more evenly distributed block in terms of weight.....

Generally the TDX is cheaper than the RBX. According to DD, they say the TDX is equal in performance to the RBX. I just ordered the parts for my system and I decided on the TDX over the RBX for my X2 4800. The fact that the block is longer shouldn't make a difference.
