View Full Version : Via 4in1 question
Is there an easy way of reading which version of the 4in1 drivers is currently installed?
Asking because the last couple of times I've updated the 4in1's the PC has frozen with driver installation 100% complete (or so it says).
PC requires manual rebooting then everything appears Ok.
I'd just like to make sure everything loaded.
BTW I checked 'System properties' in the control panel and looked under 'System Devices/Via CPU to AGP controller/Properties/Driver' and the driver date is 08/10/2000.
This seems a bit old since I just loaded the newish 4.34 drivers.
Could someone please check the driver date in their system properties and report what it says.
There is no way of checking what version of 4in1 drivers that you have installed as of the moment. This was mentioned at this (http://www.viahardware.com/) site but I can't find it right now.

I just had a look in my registry and there is no 'VIA4inOneDriver' entry. At least in Windows ME.
I was playing around with the XP OS on my machine last week and did find the key you mention.
So I presume you are using XP?
BTW I got mixed results with XP, I liked some stuff but couldn't get outgoing e-mail to work. Tried everything then fell back to ME.
Something must have loaded wrongly. I'll have another crack at it later.

MY OS IS WIN 98:)
This is really strange.
ME is just a warmed over version of 98.
Can another ME user confirm that the registry key mentioned above is not there?

Same thing here. My Registry says I have 4.34 but I am sure I installed 4.35. Anyone else seeing this?
This must be normal for these drivers.
I think the 4.35's use the 'inf' file from the 4.34's.
Win XP only loads the inf file and reports 4.34 in the registry.
