If you are running the stock dell mainboard, I believe that you are out of luck for oc'ing. OEM=no overclocking! If you would want to change your motherboard out, then you could overclock to your heart's delight.

ok cool thanks, any ideas of a reasonably affordable(yet good) one? Thanks

First of all check your bios to see if you can change anything in there and then check your motherboard for jumpers if you can't change anything in the bios and if last option use Sisoft Sandra to find your motherboard and try using SoftFSB and CPUFSB.

Nope. Trust me, I have a Dell. Intel made sure there is no possible way to change any of the CPU settings in the BIOS and there are no jumpers for that type of function, at least not on mine. And SoftFSB does not have the correct clock generator (or motherboard) for the Dell P4's yet. Dunno about CPUFSB, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Also, I have never had a problem with "my crappy little Dell", I own one and so does my dad; neither of us have ever had a problem, though I wouldn't know about tech support cause I've never needed it... the ones I've had experience with have never broken down. I've put in a DVD-drive, CD-ROM burner, RAM, sound cards, video cards, and have never had one so much as flinch at the change. The lack of overclockability is the only downside I've seen out of Dell, except for their lack of AMD systems (but that's not a downside for me... ;) ).

Self made computers are better though :D Instead of them giving you their own stock mobo and stuff you can change everything and their damn expensive .. Plus the shipping.

lol... I won't disagree with you there. They gave me a micro-ATX mobo with a riser card for 2 more PCI slots... when I put the Blue Orb chipset cooler on the graphics card in there, I had to move the sound card to the only PCI slot not being used... the one where I kept the slot fan. I can't fit the slot fan in the spot where the card WAS so now I have one slot that I can't use... but past that it's a fine computer... no complaints.
