So ownage these cards... I love em! :)

Rumor has it that they're r430 cores now, though... should look into that.

I was doing some research on these cards too, techpowerup users have stated the drivers will see them as 430's but the chips themselves will say 480! Could be random though.

Hmm 6800 Ultra or X850??...

X850!!! For the money, you're better off with GTO˛.

I was thinking that it could be read wrong as well... cuz I know the r430 core does not really OC up to 500mhz and beyond, and these GTO˛s still do. You're most likely right.

Shouldn't matter cuz even if it isn't 16p outa the box, you can flash it to 16p. I flashed my card to the Sapphire X850XT PE bios and it works like a charm.

just to clarify, this is actually $179 AR, it shows up as $169 AR in the search, but when you click on the link its $179

and the reviews on the Egg all say it comes 16 pipes out of the box

EDIT: and....ordered one, thanks for the heads up

Ok Newegg is disgustingly fast...I ordered this card yesterday and it was at my door TODAY at 2pm. That's with UPS ground shipping...

They did that to me once as well... cuz it was shipped from NJ (I live in NY). Funny thing is, sometimes when they ship UPS Ground from NJ it takes 3-5 bus days, and sometimes 1 day. :D It's always random for me.

To be honest, from what I've seen... the avg overclocked GTO˛ on air scores about 500 points higher in 3dmark05 than the 6800GS. If ones >$20 cheaper than the other, get the cheaper-priced one... also, it depends on what games you're gonna play. Check out the game you wanna play most, and see if nVidia or ATI does better for that game. That's how I make my decisions... if I were to not play Source and Condition Zero, I would have gone nVidia again.
