Quick question...need quicker answer...please..

I received a very generous gift from a friend...a free duron...it already has some artic silver on it...should I remove it before installing? I don't have any artic silver to replace it with...all I gots is the cheapo radio shack thermal grease.

did he put fresh AS after he removed it or is the same old AS that was on it when he was using it? If its his old AS carefully remove it and put radio shack paste on till you can get your hands on some fresh AS. Most likely the AS on there now has gotten dust or other micro poo on there that will degrade its performance.

You should remove the left over ASII. The Radio Shack stuff will work just fine too. From what I've been reading, it performs almost as good as ASII.
