hey guys. i have a Gainward 5900xt that doesnt seem to want to work right. everytime i boot it up it looks like this. then if blinks and just freezes at this screen and all the little dots flicker a little.
is this card done for? is there a piece on the board i MIGHT be able to replace?(not the GPU etc)

Looks to me that your card is done for. You can try removing the heatsink and cleaning everything really well, then reinstall with minimal thermal paste, and make sure the sink isn't touching anything else. If that doesn't work, then you're hosed.

It looks to me like your card is fried.
The same thing happened to me except I had colored boxes and mine would freeze directly after the bios flash screen.
The only legal/honest way to RMA this card (if you are still within warranty period) would be:
1. You did not physically alter or modify the card
2. You did not overclock the card whatsoever.
If your card is still within the manufactures warranty period send it back for a replacement. If not, hang it on the wall and buy a new X1900XT or wait for the nvidia 7900. :)
